Job Summary
The Day Care Educator fosters a safe and enriching environment that supports children’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development. This role involves planning and supervising activities, guiding positive interactions, and collaborating with families to support the well-being and growth of children.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education
- Current Standard First Aid Certification
- Bilingualism is required (French/English)
- Experience working in a childcare or early childhood education setting (preferred)
- Ability to design and deliver creative, age‑appropriate programs and activities
- Strong interpersonal, observational, and communication abilities
- Ability to maintain a positive, cooperative, and professional attitude within the team
Working Conditions and Hours of Work
- Ability to lift, carry, and move children and classroom materials (up to approx. 20–40 lbs)
- Active participation in indoor and outdoor activities, including bending, standing, walking, and playing at children’s level
- Typical childcare centre setting with exposure to noise, cleaning products, and varied child behaviors
- 40 hours/week, scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.
- Occasional meetings, trainings, or special events outside regular hours
