Aquatic Instructors

Part-Time • Hearst Region

The Corporation of the Town of Hearst is seeking individuals to fill the part-time positions of Aquatic Instructors at the Parks and Recreation Department. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Planning and conducting swimming lessons adapted to different levels and age groups;
  • Providing quality instruction, ensuring the safety of participants, and creating a positive and stimulating learning environment;
  • Supervising aquatics areas to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all. Reacting promptly and effectively in case of emergencies, providing appropriate assistance;
  • Conducting regular inspections and assisting with maintenance work;
  • Any other duties assigned by the Assistant Director of Aquatic Services. 

Required Skills:

  • Strong swimming abilities, capacity to remain calm and composed in stressful situations;
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR;
  • Ability to communicate orally in French and English;
  • Certification by the Red Cross, the Lifesaving Society of Canada or another recognized organization is an asset, or be open to obtaining other qualifications as needed. 

Salary:

The salary is established according to the classification 3 of the Salary Administration Program and the level of qualifications and experience, which ranges between $22.43 and $25.63 per hour. An OMERS pension plan is offered.
